Gimlet

Instructions

1. Add gin, lime juice, and simple syrup to a shaker with ice.
2. Shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds.
3. Double strain into a chilled coupe glass.
4. Garnish with a lime wheel.

Notes

The Gimlet was originally made with Rose's Lime Cordial and was a staple of the British Royal Navy. Modern versions use fresh lime juice and simple syrup for a brighter, more balanced drink. Some purists still prefer it stirred with cordial.
