The Last Word was created at the Detroit Athletic Club during Prohibition and was rediscovered in 2004 by Murray Stenson at Zig Zag Cafe in Seattle. The equal-parts formula creates a remarkably balanced cocktail. Green Chartreuse is essential — no substitute captures its herbal complexity.
